1907 : Our beginnings
It all started with the creation of the Economic Institute within the Sainte-Geneviève School. The first class had just seven students. The following year, the Institute welcomed 25 students, and by 1909, a third optional year was introduced.
1973 : ESSEC thinks big
Since moving to Cergy-Pontoise, ESSEC has continuously expanded its campus to stay at the forefront of innovation. Equipped with cutting-edge educational tools—lecture halls with videoconferencing, a learning center, language labs, the Knowledge-Lab—and numerous sports facilities, this forward-thinking campus provides a stimulating and fulfilling environment for all. Soon, three new state-of-the-art buildings will be added, positioning Cergy as an eco-responsible model meeting the highest international standards, transforming how we teach, conduct research, live, and work.
1989 : ESSEC moves to La Défense
Following the launch of its Executive Education programs in 1967, ESSEC continued its growth by opening a campus at the CNIT (Center for New Industries and Technologies) in the La Défense business district. This allowed professionals to pursue top-tier training to advance their careers.
2015 : From France to Singapore
After a decade of teaching in Singapore, ESSEC inaugurated its 6,500m² campus at Nepal Hill, in a rapidly developing zone dedicated to research, entrepreneurship, and education. With a capacity of up to 1,500 students, this campus solidifies ESSEC’s international presence.
2017 : From Singapore to Rabat
ESSEC continued its international expansion with the opening of a new 6,000m² campus in Sidi Bouknadel, near Rabat, Morocco. Located in a high-end residential area just minutes from the beach, the campus offers sports and cultural facilities that enhance the well-being of both students and employees.
